Delvinë and Senica are facing a dramatic situation due to powerful fires that have engulfed several villages. The Ministry of Defense has ordered the immediate evacuation of residents in the villages of Palavli, Vergo and Kopacez of the Delvinë Municipality, due to the flames that have been out of control for more than three hours.

In Delvina, the head of the Commissariat, Naim Lala, has asphyxiated and is in hospital, along with other people, the number of whom is still unknown. Ambulances from Saranda and Delvina are supporting the operation, while the army has been engaged in helping on the ground. Two Air Force helicopters are working to extinguish the flames, which spread rapidly due to strong winds and high temperatures since Thursday afternoon.

In Senica, residents describe a scene of horror. Four homes and hundreds of fruit trees have disappeared in Senica, as residents faced hours of terror in an attempt to save their lives and the few things they could salvage from the flames.
Several fires have been brought under control today after aerial intervention, but electricity is out in Vergo, Kalasa, Tatzat and Senica due to damaged power lines. Meanwhile, other fires are ravaging the Lura National Park, where three active fires in the Lake of Flowers area are damaging pine trees and vegetation.

The flames have destroyed homes and the Church of St. Demetrius in Senica, a rare cultural monument and symbol of the area's historical identity. The village of Senica has been covered in ash, while four homes and hundreds of fruit trees have been destroyed.
Over 100 forces are engaged on the ground, supported by a Canadair aircraft from Croatia. In Mirdita, the fire in Shkopet has advanced towards the village of Fang, endangering the area's antennas and injuring municipal employees.

According to Civil Emergencies, 10 fire outbreaks are active across the country, with 680 operational forces, 52 firefighting vehicles, two Air Force helicopters, two Hungarian helicopters and a Croatian plane assisting.
So far, only two people have been prosecuted for arson in Kakavija and Dovolan, Korça. The situation remains alarming, while authorities are making efforts to bring the situation under control.
