As part of Europe Week, Tirana will welcome one of the most unique multidisciplinary artistic projects, combining visual art, stage performance and live music in an emotional and reflective experience.
“Ugly, deformed, depressed and complex” is a work that aims to overthrow the myth of the perfection of the great figures of European art, revealing their most fragile and human side. Through a combination of image, narration and the sounds of live cello, the audience is invited to explore the insecurities, emotional wounds and loneliness that have often accompanied the geniuses of European culture.
The narration is performed by Nea Tandini, who leads the audience on an introspective journey through the personal stories and inner worlds of the artists. Meanwhile, the live cello performance by Mario Guralumi gives the performance a deep emotional and atmospheric dimension.
With a modern scenic aesthetic and a contemporary artistic language, the project creates a strong dialogue between artist and man, bringing a different approach to iconic figures of European culture.
The play will be presented on two evenings in Tirana:
May 14 – Opera and Ballet Theater
May 19 – “Jordan Misja” Artistic Lyceum
A performance that comes as an invitation to see art beyond grandeur and to discover the human stories hidden behind the most famous names of European culture.
