Professor and criminology expert, Ervin Karamuço, has provided details regarding the latest SPAK operation, the trafficking routes and the financial value of a quantity of 50 tons of cocaine.

Karamuço said that unlike previous periods, there has been an increase in reliability and tactical operational coordination between SPAK and the State Police to prevent the operations from being exposed.

Regarding drug trafficking, he stressed that the production countries remain Peru, Colombia and Bolivia with Brazil as a maritime transit hub. According to him, Ecuador serves mainly as a departure point towards European ports.

Regarding the Albanian groups, Karamuço said that they do not operate as a separate cartel, but as part of what international agencies classify as the “Balkan Cartel.” Regarding prices, Karamuço said that the wholesale price in Europe ranges from 25 thousand -33 thousand per kilogram.

"Colleagues who are investigative journalists who have also been to Ecuador know very well the importance not only of these names, but also of other names that are there, who are certainly in the main role of first-hand people who go and contact the growers. Especially in Peru, because we are not talking about Ecuador, because Ecuador is the place where you start the expedition to bring it to Europe.

So Bolivia, Peru and Colombia are the three countries where you go knocking, even Brazil through its ports, and they have some weight, of course. They have a weight that they have gained over the years with their experience in contacts with the most powerful criminal organizations in Europe, mainly the 'Ndrangheta, which has introduced us to Latin America.

But not as an Albanian cartel, because we are not yet at the levels of a cartel, but as a Balkan cartel, because that is what they call it from all the reports that come to us. So we are not the only ones there, there is also Montenegro, there is also Serbia. So we are a group where of course we have an important weight also because of the tons that we have for forwarding, for transit, and there is an extraordinary profitability.

We have said, it is 1,500 to 2,000 dollars per kilo. Add 2,000 dollars per kilo for transportation and corruption. And in Europe it is sold from 25, 30 to 33,000 dollars per kilo. So think about the bottom line, I mean the bottom line, how much profit is there," he said, among other things, on the "Now" show.
