The Book Fair awards ceremony is being held today at the Palace of Congresses.
Writer Artan Fuga wins the 'Best Author of the Year' award for the novel "The Second Punishment of Eve" published by "Papirus", at the 28th edition of the Book Fair.
For 5 consecutive days until November 16, the public will be able to visit the stands of publishing houses, meet writers and translators, purchase publications at a reduced price, and also participate in promotional activities.
The theme selected for this year's edition is a quote by the great Kadare: "Our conscience needs books."
As in previous years, the fair had a corner for conversations with writers, translators, publishers and critics, on the second floor of the Palace of Congresses where the “Book Sofa” is located. In this edition, writer Ben Blushi with his newest novel “Jam Musliman” was also received with great interest by readers.

"Author of the best research book" award
It is awarded to Mr. Ali Xhiku, for the work Pages of Albanian Historiography, published by "Onufri", for his valuable contribution to the theoretical and methodological enlightenment of key issues in the history of Albanian literature, in a work that combines deep knowledge of the Albanian literary system, analysis of fundamental texts in the history of our literature, and a lifelong commitment to literary studies.
"Best Author of the Year" Award
It is awarded to Mr. Artan Fuga, for the novel The Second Punishment of Eve, published by "Papirus", an impressive novel structure, where the myth of origin, the dramas of family and urban life and the technological developments of contemporary times are intertwined. The combination of the philosophical and psycho-social dimension with a prominent literary quality demonstrates a deep understanding of man, society and the time in which we live.
"Best Translator of the Year" Award
It is awarded to Mr. Virgjil Muçi for his masterful translation of Percival Everett's James, winner of the 2025 Pulitzer Prize, published by "Dituria", which reflects his deep knowledge of the nature of Albanian, but also his talent as a writer. The admirable dexterity of the two registers of the novel's idiom makes this major contemporary work speak to the Albanian reader, while preserving the colors and complexity of the original text.
"Author of the best children's book" award
It is awarded to Ms. Valbona Banka for the children's novel Aria, in my hand, published by "Dita Books", for the pleasant and humorous narrative, which interweaves in the literary text the identity signs of our country and language, which promote the formation of national identity in young readers, and emotional education through literature.
Award for the best literary translation from French into Albanian
It is awarded to Mr. Urim Nergut for his translation of the novel “Hyrija” by Kamel Daoud, winner of the 2024 Goncourt Prize, published by “Buzuku”. Through the diverse nuances of the word and the flexible syntax, the translator faithfully brings a thrilling story into Albanian while preserving the author’s style with the silences, stuttering and multiplicity of voices of this shocking novel.
