This year's Sanremo winner, Olly, has refused to represent Italy at Eurovision 2025, as the contest dates coincide with his solo tour.
Through an Instagram post, he explained the reasons for the decision, emphasizing that he wants to focus on his concerts.
According to the singer, he had to choose between a trip to Basel for the Eurovision Song Contest and a solo concert tour because their dates coincided.
"I don't think you'll be upset if I postpone my concerts for Eurovision, but I strongly believe that I need to fix everything that happens to me before looking to the future to continue my favorite live shows, which I always speak of with endless pride," he said.
Olly thanked fans for their support in the national selection and wished success to Italy's next representative at Eurovision.
While it will be Lucio Corsi, who followed Olly in the rankings by a small margin of 0.45%, who will have the honor of representing Italy at Eurovision 2025.
