On the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great Korça actress Violeta Manushi, the “Andon Z. Çajupi” Theater premiered the documentary “The Golden Generation, Violeta Manushi”. The film brings through archival materials, testimonies and stories the human and artistic portrait of Manushi, bringing her back to the attention of new generations.
Actress Merita Çoçoli, who worked on the documentary, emphasized that the goal was to "remove the dust of oblivion" and leave traces of the artists who created the foundation of Albanian theater and film:
"The goal was to remove the dust of oblivion, to leave something for the future, documents, arguments, evidence of these great artists who created the foundation of Albanian theater and film as an invaluable value of Albanian identity."
Çoçoli said that what touched him the most during the making of the documentary was Manushi's discipline and unconditional love for the profession:
"I learned from her persistence, she said I want to die on stage. There's a lot to learn from her; in the position of an actress she was excellent."
The Korçë audience experienced strong emotions and unforgettable memories of the life and career of Violeta Manushi, making the premiere a special homage to the legend of Albanian theater and film.
