An investigation by police officers in Greece is underway at the shops of the businessman who employed the 22-year-old, who has been arrested for the murder of the local owner of the campsite and his Albanian caretaker in Finikounda, on October 5 of this year.
The investigation is being conducted at the behest of the investigator handling the case, with homicide officers searching the premises to identify any significant evidence or micro-traces that could shed more light on the crime.
The businessman is the first person the victim's nephew contacted immediately after his uncle's murder. The nephew managed to escape the bullets while he was present at the crime scene, while the other two did not.
The businessman also employed the 22-year-old, who has been arrested in connection with the case. His accomplice, a 22-year-old Greek-British man, was also arrested along with the perpetrator. The two young men blame each other for the murder, while the investigation is still ongoing and is taking a new direction.
Family members, and especially the granddaughter of the Greek owner, have strongly suspected that the crime may be related to her uncle's wealth, which he had left a large portion to the Albanian worker.
It is not yet known whether the suspected businessman of the chain of stores is involved in the serious crime, or whether he may have incited the 22-year-old to commit the crime.
