Police have provided the first details regarding the body found this afternoon in the Shkumbin River by a local fisherman.
The latter notified the authorities, who then intervened and pulled him out of the water. In the official announcement, the Police announced that it is suspected that the person died a few days ago, while he is still unidentified.
Meanwhile, investigations have been launched into the case to identify the person and the cause of the loss of life.

At around 2:30 p.m., the Police received a report that an elderly citizen had been found drowned in the Shkumbin River.
Police and fire services immediately went to the scene and pulled the body, still unidentified, from the water.
From the preliminary examination of this citizen's body, it is suspected that he died a few days ago.
The body has been sent to the Elbasan hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The investigation team is working to identify the deceased citizen, determine the cause of death, and legally document the case.
