Bakie Zoto has stated that he has no conflicts with anyone.
An explosion with explosives was reported to have occurred yesterday evening in the "Partizani" neighborhood in Vlora at the gate of the apartment of 63-year-old Bakie Zoto, the mother of Gentjan Zoto (Dautaj).
The latter was sentenced to 35 years in prison by the Court of Appeal for involvement in the assassination attempt against Inez Ajrulla on May 10, 2019, in collaboration with several other persons.
The explosion only caused material damage, while the police are investigating the circumstances of the incident and working to identify the perpetrator.
Meanwhile, in the testimony given to the police, Bakie Zoto stated that he has no conflicts with anyone, while he lives alone in the apartment.
"I just live. The police came. It was more smoke. There was no conflict at all. I've been here in the neighborhood for so many years. I don't know, I'm surprised myself," said Bakie Zoto.
Who is Gentjan Zoto?
Gentian Zoto has been sentenced to 35 years in prison by the Court of Appeal, as part of the group that carried out the assassination attempt against Inez Hajrulla on May 10, 2019 in Vlora.
Along with Zoto, Daut Elmazi, Igli Memaj, Serxho Ademi and Albano Goxhaj were also convicted for the same incident.
At the time of the assassination, Hajrulla was in the company of Ervis Matodashaj, in a bar in the city. At one point, several people shot at him with the intention of killing him.
Investigations revealed that two spent shells and one unfired cartridge were found in the square. As a result of these shots, Dajko Canodemaj, who was drinking coffee, was accidentally wounded.
From the security camera review, it is evident that the "Land Rover" vehicle approaches and moves along the famous "Lungomare" promenade and as it approaches the bar, it stops and a person gets out of the back door of the vehicle.
At this very moment, six people sitting at the tables get up and run away. The footage shows Inez Hajrulla shooting at the Land Rover, then grabbing the gun from Ervis Matodashaj, who runs away in the direction the aggressors' vehicle also fled.
While fleeing, the perpetrators of this crime, who were inside a green Land Rover vehicle and wearing masks, collided with two random vehicles near the municipality of Vlora, and then fled in the direction of the village of Babicë. The police pursued this vehicle and near the villages of Babicë e Vogël and Çeprat, this vehicle was found burned. Inside the vehicle were two completely burned automatic rifles and a partially burned plastic glove.
