New details have emerged from the SPAK investigation file for the August 2024 assassination attempt in the village of Bushat, where the target was suspected to be Aleksandër Prendi. By analyzing the defendants' phones, the prosecution has obtained footage, videos and conversations that, according to investigators, document the planning of the attack and the movements of the armed group.
According to the file, the accused Izmir Sakica, Samuel Troshani and Franko Leka had organized the assassination attempt on Prendi, but were met with retaliation from their target. Videos showing people firing guns were found on the seized phones, while SPAK claims that these materials show the group's preparations and training.
In one of the videos mentioned in the dossier, Izmir Sakicaj is shown firing an automatic weapon in an uninhabited area, while another person is suspected of instructing him on its use. Investigators have also recorded footage showing large amounts of cash in euro banknotes being transported in a vehicle.
“In the video created on 02.10.2024, the fact is evidenced that citizen Izmir Sakicaj is shooting with a firearm in a seemingly uninhabited area. It appears that the citizen is training to shoot with a long firearm. At the beginning of the video, two citizens appear, one dressed in black, and with a hood on his head (Izmir Sakicaj) and another male citizen, dressed in a black sweatshirt, brown pants and a bag tied to the front of his body. It appears that the unidentified citizen teaches citizen Izmir Sakicaj how to use the weapon. After the unidentified citizen leaves, Izmir Sakicaj fires in bursts.”, part of the file.
Sakicaj also exhibited a photo showing several large bundles of euros, 50 and 20 euro banknotes.
"In the SPAK evidence, several fragments are presented which show that the user of this mobile device, Izmir Sakicaj, has transported large amounts of cash. From the overall review of this expert report, no data has been identified on the source of these revenues, or where they are destined to be sent.
"In the video, created on 24.07.2024, the citizen who is driving the vehicle records from inside the car and attaches a bag filled with 20 euro and 50 euro banknotes to the passenger seat," the file states.
In the seized phone, according to SPAK, Samuel Troshani is also shown shooting a gun, in the company of an unidentified woman.
According to the file: In the video dated 21.11.2024, two citizens appear, a male, suspected to be Samuel Troshani, and an unidentified female. The two citizens appear in the video shooting with a firearm, a pistol type.
Meanwhile, in the file, several conversations prove how Prendi managed to ambush them, through footage taken in the apartment in the village of Rranxë.
According to the file, other members of Prendi's family also appear on the scene, brother Andrea Prendi and his father, Gëzim Prendi with the nickname 'Noizy'.
A person with the nickname 'Cavalli', suspected to be Andrea Prendi, brother of Aleksandër Prendi, in a conversation with Arsen Cenin, tells of some suspicious movements near their apartment. According to him, the cameras installed in their apartment have captured some movements, while the police had gone to check.
This is exactly the place where the gunfight took place.
"Cavalli" tells Arsen that he saw the house cameras at night and noticed the police forces who had gone to carry out the control, and Arsen replies that he found out because "Captain" had also told him that it must be Pjetër Prendi (alias Dragoti).
Among other things, Arseni says that he will stay at the brothers' house together with "Noizy" to act as a guard to prevent anyone from coming and has a couple of bullets at his disposal and "Cavalli" says that "you are acting as a guard, brother... that work is in vain... that's it... they say they have killed us during the day, let alone at night".
The next day, on 25.08.2024, “Cavalli” is concerned about some cameras in the area where the incident occurred and sends Arsen to see the direction of the cameras. Arsen, after approaching the area with the cameras, calms him down because according to him, the cameras do not have the perspective from where the passage of the BMW vehicle can be identified and at that moment “Cavalli” says that “the guys are running away” “that’s why Alexis is quiet” “that’s why I don’t have…” “That’s just one camera, that’s our problem”.
Regarding the day of the incident, Arseni tells Cavalli that the people in armored vehicles who went to Rranxë may have been in the area the night before to get information about where the Prendi brothers lived and more specifically states that "I met with my uncle a little while ago and he told me that there was someone who had brought them here." "He also told me that there was a black man named Peter." "They also asked about you and the captain that day," while "Cavalli" replies, "They found your back fine," while Arseni counters that "they're fine with that."
"Cavalli" is also concerned about something that Arseni had to hide after the event of 23.08.2024 and asks Arseni "are the things you are hiding far away" "or do you know anything", while Arseni replies "1 where I have them then", "He went to the land of dawn on the left side in the thorns".
