An organised crime group involved in the distribution of cocaine in London and across the United Kingdom has been sentenced to over 65 years in prison after a long and detailed investigation by the Metropolitan Police in London in collaboration with the National Crime Agency (NCA).
At the centre of this group was Redon Bushi, 32, of Cherry Crescent, Brentford, who for years led the drug trafficking network, collaborating with numerous importers and couriers.
According to the Metropolitan Police of London, he pleaded guilty at the High Court in Kingston-upon-Thames on 10 July 2024 to: two counts of conspiracy to supply class A narcotics, conspiracy to transfer criminal property, possession of criminal property.
On July 9, 2025, he was sentenced to a total of 24 years and 10 months in prison.
Traffic detected through EncroChat and Signal
The use of encrypted apps such as EncroChat and Signal revealed that Bush had plotted to distribute at least 832kg of cocaine worth up to £81.6m.
After identifying him on EncroChat under the alias "Sealvermouth", Met and NCA investigators launched a targeted operation to dismantle the network.
Investigation and arrests
Police used advanced investigative techniques, examining electronic devices, encrypted conversations, hours of security camera footage, and employed covert methods to track criminal activity.
In June 2020, one of Bush's couriers, Ahmad Jabarkhill, was detained and found with nearly £700,000 in cash.
Further, investigators identified three other couriers: Arline Sida, Luke Ferguson, Kelvin Hoxha.
In August 2023, Sida and Hoxha were arrested in Brentford, having in their possession 6 kilograms of cocaine. Ferguson was subsequently arrested at a “safe house” in Brentford, where 72 kilograms of cocaine, worth an estimated £6.24 million, was found on him.
Following the arrests of members of the network, an intensive search was launched for Bush, who stayed in several hotels to evade police, using new phones and over £3,000 in cash.
He was arrested a few days later in Reading.
Ahmad Jabarkhill, 32, was sentenced on July 22, 2020, to 2 years and 3 months in prison for possession of criminal property.
Arline Sida, 23, from Amersham, was sentenced on July 9, 2025, to 12 years and 9 months in prison.
Kelvin Hoxha, 23, from Brentford, was sentenced on July 9, 2025, to 11 years and 8 months in prison.
Luke Ferguson, 32, of Shepherd's Bush, was sentenced on July 9, 2025, to 14 years and 5 months in prison.
Investigator David Leitner stated: “This case demonstrates our determination to combat organized crime, taking advantage of the unique opportunities that the discovery of EncroChat provided.
Bush believed these platforms protected him from the law, but in fact they provided us with key evidence to convict him and his associates. The Metropolitan Police remains committed to tackling drug dealers who negatively impact our communities.”
