In May 2024, SPAK signed around 50 arrest warrants in one of the operations considered the largest to crack down on 7 organized crime groups, while assets worth 4.5 million euros were seized.
The operation, codenamed 'Revanshi', was undertaken after the dismantling of the Sky Eç application, where some of the defendants are suspected of having organized assassinations, ordered murders, or been involved in international drug trafficking.
Among the names that were announced as wanted was the 'king of gambling' Ervis Martinaj, who has been missing since August 2022. Also wanted is former Socialist MP Arben Ndoka.
The wiretaps revealed that local police officers or members of the RENEA forces were deployed in the service of criminal groups.
