Wanted for hostage-taking, 36-year-old arrested after escape attempt in Rinas

A 36-year-old man has been arrested by police, accused of hostage-taking.

Police say that the citizen with the initials JK, who was trying to escape, fell behind bars.

"They arrested citizen JK, 36 years old, resident of Durrës, after the Durrës Prosecutor's Office issued a detention order for the criminal offense of "Illegal Deprivation of Liberty", committed in collaboration. This citizen is accused of having, in collaboration with 3 other citizens, on 01.07.2025, taken by force, in a vehicle, and raped a 48-year-old man. The 36-year-old was caught by the Rinas Border Police services, during his attempt to leave the Republic of Albania", the police announced.
