The weather situation remains worrying. Despite the reduction in rainfall today, the specialist of the Institute of Geosciences, Anira Gjoni, said that the late evening hours will bring back intense rainfall in some regions.
"It will be the regions of Vlora and Gjirokastra, where we are expected to have intense rainfall and locally it will range from very intense, while in the regions of Shkodër, Korçë and Berat, rainfall is expected to be average and locally intense. In the rest of the regions, we expect rainfall to be average. In all regions, it will be accompanied by storms," said Anira Gjoni.
According to the Institute of Geosciences, the situation remains alarming in Vjosa because rainfall will continue throughout Friday.
"Due to the increased intensity of rainfall, in both regions, Gjirokastra and Vlora, it remains at high risk. As for the Vjosa River, it risks overflowing its banks as its flows and levels are constantly increasing. The Seman and Shkumbin rivers are also problematic, where due to the increased rainfall over these three days, they are at risk of increasing their levels," she said.
According to forecasts, temperatures will drop over the weekend, bringing snowfall to the north.
"Over the weekend, we expect a cold front to pass through our country, which will also bring a drastic decrease in temperatures, where in mountainous areas we expect them to go up to -3 degrees. During Saturday evening and Sunday morning, we will have the presence of snowfall, but this will be in mountainous areas, in the Alps. So, at altitudes over 1,000 meters above sea level, where we can mention Theth, as well as in the north-east of the country ," he continued for "TV Klan".
On the other hand, for experts, November is the wettest month of the year and about 70% of annual precipitation falls in this month.
"The presence of rainfall throughout this November is a normal behavior for this month. What has been abnormal is the lack of rainfall," the specialist concluded.
Until the end of November, rainfall will be present throughout the country, but with lower intensity.
