Another shocking piece of evidence has come to light from the infamous “Golden Bullet” case. The third justice defector in this case, Skerdi Tase, testified this Tuesday before the Special Court and revealed a series of criminal events that include attempted murder, paid orders, and collaborators with criminal structures in Elbasan and beyond.
In a charged session, Tase confessed to the black squads that he had direct knowledge of many of the failed and accomplished assassinations, mentioning specific names and significant amounts of money offered for the liquidation of certain individuals. One of the most shocking statements was the one related to the son-in-law of the late former mayor of Elbasan, Qazim Sejdini.
According to Tase, “The Çapjat were ready to pay 200 thousand euros to kill Sejdin's son-in-law, Sokol Sanxhatari.” He added that he had himself been involved in discussions about this planned assassination in May 2020.
According to his account, the assassinations were not spontaneous, but well-organized with constant tracking of the victims, distance surveillance and logistical preparation, even to the point of using snipers in some cases. "We have preserved Dine Çani to assassinate him with a sniper," said Tase, adding that they used special vehicles, such as a BMW taken in Bathore for the assassination, while for another incident, he received 25 thousand euros in cash after the assassination of Ramazan.
Tase also confessed to the attempts to kill Oti Kilë in Elbasan for a payment of 60 thousand euros and the failed assassination attempts on Filip Gjeloshi, organized by Henriku, one of the key figures in the group. In the assassination attempt on Lulzim Masha, he used a “Scorpions” weapon, which he said was given to him by Sandër Baho, another figure mentioned in the file.
In his testimony, the repentant also mentioned several other names who were collaborators or aware of the events, including Henrik's brother, Mehiu, and Bledar Muça, who according to him had strong ties to the Çapjat. Regarding the assassination attempts on Behar, Tase said that amounts ranging from 50 to 80 thousand euros were offered.
The lawyers requested the full transcript of the testimony to prepare their questions, while the court was faced with a detailed account that highlights an organized criminal structure, where the orderers and implementers collaborated in a secret but planned manner down to the last detail.
Excerpts from the discussion:
Skerdi Tase: Henriku told me that he attempted to assassinate Filip Gjeloshi twice, and failed on both occasions. The well-known person Ton had a clash with Henriku after he had asked him to pay him. Toni is Artan Kilë's brother-in-law.
Regarding Masha's assassination, Henriku told me that he was asked by Nuredin, and Nuredin was asked by someone else, the crippled Sandri.
After this attempt, I did not hide, I never stayed hidden until I was arrested.
We had information about Oti Kila, we kept it, but we didn't find any reason to act.
We didn't take weapons with us to follow him. Henriku had been ordered by Nuredin to kill Oti Kila in Elbasan for a payment of 60 thousand euros. We guarded Dine Çani, Lulzim Masha and Oti Hilë and whoever we could catch first.
We have saved Dine Çani to assassinate him with a sniper.
Nuredin and I went to Bathore to get the BMW car to carry out the assassination, but they didn't inform me about it, I just saw on TV that they had been arrested.
I received 25 thousand euros in the Ramadan assassination attempt alone.
In the murder of Lulzim Masha, I used the Scorpions weapon that Sandër Baho had given me.
Lum Frroku and Mir Boçi were our friends who lived in Shëngjin. We decided to flee to Valbona where they, me, Henriku and another boy were.
When we went to Tropoja, Henriku was worried, he told me that an assassination attempt had been made and that there were police checks.
I know Henrik's brother, Mehi. He was aware of his brother's activities, about Goriç, Behar.
Attorney Aldo Shkëmbi: Do you know the son-in-law of the mayor of Elbasan?
Skerdi Tase: I heard from Nuredini, in 2020, it was discussed that the Çapjat were ready to give 200 thousand euros for Qazim Sejdin's son-in-law, Sokol Sanxhaktari.
It was ignored at first, then this person was arrested.
Behar's client promised 50-60 thousand euros in the first assassination attempt and 80 thousand euros in the second.
Adv. Aldo Shkëmbi: What period was the Sanxatari mentioned about?
Skerdi Tase: In May 2020, Nuredini had received orders for the murder, I was asked if I wanted to participate.
Nuredini told me that the Çapjat have made 200 thousand euros available for Sejdin's son-in-law.
I said I agreed to take part in this work. We hadn't gotten to the details to establish the role in the assassination.
It wasn't just a conversation, it was taken on as work.
Bledar Muça was a close friend of the Çapjas. Henriku had no contact with the Çapjas.
