A 33-year-old Albanian man was arrested in flagrante delicto by Italian authorities after being caught with a significant amount of drugs in his apartment. The Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Florence, supported by the Provincial Commands of Milan and Lodi, seized over 15 kilograms of cocaine and 12 kilograms of marijuana destined for the main drug trafficking areas in central and northern Italy.
The cocaine packages found on the Albanian were iconically packaged with Al Pacino's portrait from the movie Scarface. The large quantity of drugs would bring in approximately 600 thousand euros on the market.
The drugs were discovered during the continuous control of the territory, at the end of a surveillance and check in the information systems of the Guardia di Finanza.
Subsequent local and personal checks on the 33-year-old Albanian revealed a real drug depot with 15,793 kilograms of cocaine, divided into 20 blocks, 12,171 kilograms of marijuana, divided into 13 cellophane bags, three mobile phones and cash in various denominations of around 37 thousand euros.
During the search, packaging materials and equipment used to prepare doses, such as vacuum packaging machines, scales, cutters, bags and backpacks, were also seized.
