Ruben Saraiva, accused of the murder of Ardian Nikulaj, arrived at the Lezha Court this Monday. Witnesses were expected to appear at this hearing, but they did not appear at the hearing.
Portuguese Ruben Saraiva was extradited to Albania on December 31, 2023, following the decision of the Moroccan Court, which accepted the request of the Albanian authorities.
Since then, he has been in custody in Tirana and is facing Albanian justice on charges of "blood feud murder", committed in collaboration, and "unlicensed possession of weapons", while he has consistently denied any connection to the murder of businessman Ardian Nikulaj in Shëngjin.
In connection with the crime, 4 British citizens who assisted him are also accused, as well as the suspect Edmond Haxhia, as the organizer and orderer of the murder with blood feud motives.
A decision has also been made against them by the London Court and they are expected to be extradited to Albania within a few weeks to face justice.
