The assassination took place at around 2:20 p.m., when unidentified individuals opened fire with Kalashnikov rifles at their target, who had just arrived from Spain.
Footage provided by "shteg.org" shows that just 2 minutes after the assassination, a convoy of 4 cars from an official delegation passes right by the place where the incident occurred.
The perpetrators, masked and wearing uniforms resembling police uniforms, fired at the vehicle, stopping it in place. One of the perpetrators then got out of the car and fired again at the target, Gilmando Dani, who was sitting in the passenger seat.
The footage shows that the assailants fled in the direction of Fushë-Krujë, while passersby approached to help the people inside the vehicle.
How did the crime happen?
Gilmando Dani was executed at the roundabout in front of the entrance to Rinas Airport, having just returned from Barcelona. A barrage of bullets was fired at the car in which he was traveling with his friend Mustafa Shaljani (Sheqeri), leaving Dani, who is known to be the closest man to Emiljano Shullazi, dead on the spot.
At first, the perpetrators fired from their car, after they had entered parallel to the other vehicle. The Benz car in which the victim Dani was driving lost control and went straight at the Rinas roundabout. Then, the perpetrators' Toyota vehicle pulled in front of it and one of them got out of the car and fired from very close range. The perpetrator who got out of the car was masked.
A taxi was passing in front of the car carrying Gilmando Dani and Mustafa Sheqeri at that moment. It is suspected that there was a gunfight from the car carrying Dani and Sheqeri.
Three Kalashnikovs and a pistol were found in the perpetrators' burned-out vehicle in the village of Halil. The weapons have been sent for further examination.

Nuk di si rri akoma ne detyre Drejt Pergjithshem i Policise Shtetit, Drejtori Tiranes, Shefi komisariatit Rinas, Shefi komisariatit fushekruje, dhe gjithe zinxhiri ne varesi te tyre. Tallje dhe turperim me te thelle nuk ka. Nje shtet i mbaruar i dorezuar perballë krimit. Kur ndodh nje ngjarje e tille ne Rinas, cfare sigurie presim ne me larg!!!
