The Tirana Prosecution has requested a guilty verdict and a 23-year prison sentence for citizen Ilir Beqaraj (alias Brahimi, alias Mançellari) accused of the murder of former police officer Gentjan Bejtja, 1 year ago in Larushk, Fushë-Krujë.

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Tirana, seeks the guilty verdict of the citizen, I. B alias B alias M, for the criminal offenses of 'Premeditated Murder' committed in collaboration, 'Unauthorized Possession and Production of Weapons, Explosive Weapons and Ammunition', in the form of possession in a residence and 'Forgery or use of forged identity cards, passports or visas', provided for by articles 78/1 and 25, 278/4 and 189/1 ii of the Criminal Code.
From the investigations of criminal proceedings no. 1944 of 2024, it resulted that on 15.03.2024, armed persons, after having passed the external fence of the apartment of citizen GB, entered the yard and fired several times with firearms at citizen GB, where as a result of the gunshots he died instantly. A few minutes after the incident on the secondary road in the village of Hasan, Fushë Krujë, a Land Rover vehicle, which was used by the perpetrators at the scene, was found burning.
From the evidence administered, it results that the defendant IB, at various times before this event, was in the vicinity of the place where the apartment of citizen GB is located, with his vehicle, this is proven by examining the GPS of the vehicle he rented.
From the DNA biological expertise report, it was concluded that: the black Volkswagen Golf vehicle, owned by citizen EH (arrested on 19.03.2024), which was used by the perpetrators to leave immediately after the burning of the "Land Rover" vehicle, in the village of Hasan, Fushë Krujë, and in it was obtained a genetic profile of citizens IB, alias IB, alias IM (arrested on 19.03.2024) and FP, alias F.Si, alias F,M, who are suspected of having played a role in the execution/murder of citizen GB, on 15.03.2024, in the village of Larush, Fushë Krujë.
After conducting investigative actions, the registration of the names of the persons under investigation was ordered in connection with criminal proceedings no. 1944 of 2024, where for citizen IB on 28.02.2025, criminal proceedings no. 1944/2 of 2024 were separated, which, referring to the evidence collected during the investigation of this criminal proceedings, the mechanism of the event is such that the defendant IB appears to have collaborated with other persons by playing the role of an assistant and committed this criminal offense in collaboration.
For this reason, the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction requested:
The guilty plea of the defendant IB (alias Brahimi, alias Mançellari) for the criminal offense of "Premeditated Murder" committed in collaboration, provided for by Article 78/1 and 25 of the Criminal Code and, based on this provision, his sentence to 21 (twenty-one) years of imprisonment.
The guilty plea of the defendant IB (alias Brahimi, alias Mançellari) for the criminal offense of "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", in the form of possession in the apartment provided for by Article 278/4 of the Criminal Code and, based on this provision, his sentence to 2 (two) years of imprisonment.
The guilty plea of the defendant IB for the criminal offense of Forgery or use of forged identity cards, passports or visas, provided for by Article 189/1 of the Criminal Code and, based on this provision, his sentence to 1 (one) year of imprisonment.
In application of Article 55 of the Criminal Code, it is requested that the above sentences be combined into a single sentence, definitively sentencing the defendant IB to 23 (twenty-three) years of imprisonment.
