Korça Police have released new details regarding the death of a 72-year-old man, whose body was found yesterday evening on Mount Morava.
The elderly man had been missing for about six months, while according to preliminary data from forensic expertise, no external injuries were found on his body, such as wounds from hard objects or firearms.
"Following the information provided on 09.02.2026, regarding the removal from the apartment of citizen AD, 72 years old, resident of Korça, we would like to inform you that his dead body (decomposed) was found, in the place called "Çezma e Manushaqeve", on Mount Morava, Korça. From the entirety of the investigative actions (examination of the scene, examination of the corpse and statements of the forensic doctor after the autopsy), it results that there were no external injuries and that the 72-year-old is suspected of having lost his life due to natural causes", the local police announced.
According to information, the victim has been identified and is suspected of living in homeless conditions. The body has been transported to the Korça hospital morgue, where it will undergo further examinations to determine the exact time and cause of death.
Meanwhile, authorities continue their investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of this case.
