
A 33-year-old man, declared internationally wanted by Italian authorities, has been arrested by the Albanian Police with the aim of extradition to Italy.
According to the police, he had been sentenced to 8 years and 6 days in prison by the Naples Court of Appeal for a series of serious criminal offenses.
The detainee is Erjon Mera, 33 years old, who was wanted by Italian justice for "Armed Robbery", "Attempted Murder" and "Unlicensed Possession of Weapons", under the Italian Criminal Code.
His arrest was the result of a well-organized operation by the Serious Crimes Against the Person Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Money Laundering and Criminal Assets Section, as part of the operation codenamed "The Wanted".

As a result of a well-organized operational work, carried out in coordination with Italian counterparts, after the exchange of information through the structures of Interpol Tirana, with Interpol Rome, the Section for the Investigation of Serious Crimes against the Person, in cooperation with the Money Laundering and Criminal Assets Section, following the operation "The Wanted", arrested with the aim of extradition to Italy, the Albanian citizen, declared internationally wanted, Erjon Mera, 33 years old.
The Naples Court of Appeal has sentenced the 33-year-old to 8 years and 6 days in prison for the criminal offenses of "Armed Robbery", "Attempted Murder" and "Unlicensed Possession of Weapons", as provided for by the Italian Criminal Code.
"Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Interpol Rome, is continuing the procedure for the extradition of this citizen to Italy," the police announced.
