An elderly woman was found dead in her apartment in neighborhood no. 4 of the city of Korça.
According to preliminary information, it is reported that the elderly woman had not contacted her family for 3 days, while neighbors, worried after not seeing her, notified the police.
Firefighters responded to the scene and were able to open the apartment door, where it was later determined that the elderly woman had passed away.
A preliminary examination revealed a hematoma on the victim's head, which raised suspicions that she may have accidentally fallen inside the apartment and consequently lost her life. It is learned that the elderly woman lived alone.
Police are at the scene and are conducting investigative actions, while the victim's body has been transported to the morgue for forensic expertise, which will determine the exact cause of death.
