The world begins to breathe freely, oil prices fall after the US-Iran deal!

Oil prices have fallen on international markets a day after the signing of a protocol agreement between Iran and the United States, which envisages the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the reduction of military tensions in the region.

At around 11:30 a.m. Paris time, Brent crude for August delivery was trading at $77.91 a barrel, down 2.06%. Meanwhile, U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for July delivery fell 2.63% to $74.77 a barrel.

The agreement provides for the cessation of military operations and the gradual normalization of the security situation, including guaranteeing navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most strategic energy transport corridors in the world. A significant portion of global oil exports pass through this sea route, so any development that affects its security is immediately reflected in international energy prices.

The price decline reflects the reduction in the geopolitical risk premium that investors had built into the market during the period of tensions. According to analysts, the return of normal tanker traffic and the reduction of uncertainties over global supply could put further downward pressure on prices in the coming days.

However, market performance will continue to depend on the implementation of the agreement and the stability of the security situation in the Middle East, a region with a key role in global oil supply.
