
The Transparency Board has published the new fuel prices, which will come into effect this Tuesday, at 5:00 PM.
According to the decision taken at the next Board meeting, the price of oil will be traded at retail at no more than 205 lek per liter , while at wholesale at no more than 193 lek per liter.
Meanwhile, gasoline will be sold at retail at a maximum price of 189 lek per liter, while wholesale at no more than 177 lek per liter.
The board announced that these prices will remain in effect until the next meeting, where new market changes will be reflected.
The authorities warned operators of wholesale and retail trade in petroleum by-products of the mandatory implementation of this decision, emphasizing that in case of violations, a suspension of activity will be imposed.

The retail price of the SSH EN 590 standard diesel by-product shall be no more than 205 lek/liter, while the wholesale price shall be no more than 193 lek/liter. The retail price of the SSH EN standard gasoline by-product shall be no more than 189 lek/liter, while the wholesale price shall be no more than 177 lek/liter.
The prices set by the Board will come into effect today, the 19th, at 5:00 PM and will be valid until the next meeting of the Board where the changes in sales prices will be reflected.
We draw the attention of every operator of wholesale and retail sales of petroleum by-products to the obligation to implement this decision.
In case of violations found by various operators, the suspension of activity will be decided. The Ministry of Economy and Innovation, together with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, are committed to protecting the interests of Albanian consumers and preserving the principles of fair competition in the market.
EXPLANATION: Referring to Normative Act No. 1, Date 3.4.2026 "On an addition to Law No. 61/2012, "On excise duties in the Republic of Albania," as amended, which provides that if the retail price for diesel is higher than 220 lek/liter, or for gasoline is higher than 200 lek/liter, the 80% excise duty level shall be applied. Based on the implementation of the methodology for calculating the retail sales ceiling prices, the prices are below the limit of Normative Act No. 1, date 3.4.2026, and consequently the excise duty level shall be applied in full, 100%.," the Transparency Board's announcement states.
