The massive and deserved reaction of the membership has caught the ruling caste of the Democratic Party by surprise, which today is struggling in a desperate attempt to save face from the next bargain with Edi Rama. Not to correct the mistake, but to cover it up. Not to seek responsibility, but to buy time.
The scenario was familiar and developed according to the classic ritual of the Albanian political elite. Initially, total silence. Then, weak acting, as if everything had happened without knowledge. In the end, a partial acceptance, accompanied by a storm of new lies, served up hour after hour to obscure the essence. Sali Berisha admitted that the signatures for Endri Shabani were given in a group, but now he is trying to rewrite history, selling a belated alibi for a consciously made bargain.
The justification that the signatures were given as “gratitude” for Florjan Binaj’s support contradicts the factual chronology. Binaj announced his candidacy on October 4. Shabani declared his support on October 6. The signatures were cast on December 2, 2025, while the elections in Tirana had been suspended since October 9 and were finally annulled by the Constitutional Court. Not a single signature was withdrawn for almost a month. This is not a coincidence. It is a scenario. It is a calculation. It is a bargain.
The hearings were held in the offices of the DP parliamentary group and in the Laws Committee, with the selection of the DP itself. Endri Shabani was included in the list with the full blessing of the leadership structure. After the election, Shabani himself thanked the DP deputies for the “guarantees” they had given him that he would be elected. This is the moment when the theater finally falls. In the Democratic Party, no one signs without an order. No one guarantees without approval. No one moves outside the line.
The hypocrisy continues today with the imposed public apologies and the order for the signatory MPs to apologize to the Democrats, justifying themselves by saying that they "did not know" who Endri Shabani was. This is an open mockery of the base. The same MPs have publicly attacked Shabani, called him a Sorosian, a tool of Rama, an enemy of the DP, while today they pretend to be ignorant.
This is not the first time. The same theater was played out in 2023, when the DP signed the support of Marko Dajti for mayor of Tirana and Berisha again played the role of the surprised one. The scheme is repeated because it works. Because it has no cost. Because the old elite survives by humiliating the base and making bargains on its back.
And all this has nothing to do with Endri Shabani as an individual. The problem is not the name, but the mechanism. The problem is an old political caste that does not allow any cracks, no new actors, no real alternatives. Anyone who tries to get out of the circle is either absorbed, or neutralized, or used as institutional decor.
The message being sent to citizens is dangerous and destructive: everyone is the same, everyone has a price, every battle for change ends in a bargain. This is the message of agony. An elite that no longer reforms, but only tries to survive, even by burning the hope of those who kept it alive.

'Kasta' lutet që SHBA dh BE mos ta kenë seriozisht atë që e kanë vendos, shkatërrimin e lidhjes së Korrupsionit me Krimin e Organizuar në nivelin e "Parisë Së Tiranës". Kujt i luten? I luten vartësve ,zullumqarëve të nivele më të ulta, që mos të flasin. Ndërsa ish ministrat e sot avokat akuzojnë popullin si turma që kërkojnë gjak. Populli kërkon konfiskim të pasurisë së grabitur. Por edhe ndëshkim penal. Se burgu qoftë edhe simbolik, e zbret "Parinë e Tiranës" nga qielli i shtatë, te qelia ku me mijra shqiptar e kanë provuar, apo po e vuajnë akoma edhe për një cigare hashash, apo për dritat që nuk kishin mundësi ti paguanin.
