From "Rama's friend" to media victim, Ron Yeffe's turn; the Israeli again uses Albania to save himself

Ron Yeffe's American file is becoming more and more interesting.

Not only about the financial charges that weigh on the Israeli-American businessman, but also about the way he is trying to build his defense in court.

Because the further the legal process progresses in Florida, the more a major contradiction comes to light.

In the documents with which Mark Faist sued him in March of this year, Albania was presented as one of the main tools that Yeffet used to impress the American investor.

According to the lawsuit, Yeffet invited Faist on private jet trips to Albania, introduced him to Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Albanian ambassador to France, organized luxurious meetings, convoys with armed guards, and gave him the impression that he had extraordinary access to the highest levels of power.

The documents described a carefully curated scenography.

A businessman who appeared to be a man of political influence, with international connections and privileged access to Albania.

According to the lawsuit, Yeffet even went so far as to discuss the possibility of securing an Albanian passport for the American investor, as part of the exclusive treatment he claimed he could offer.

This entire image, according to Faist, served to build trust and convince him to transfer millions of dollars into investments managed by Yeffet.

But as the trial progresses, the story takes an ironic turn.

Because the man who, according to the documents, used Albania as a prestige card to gain the trust of investors, is now using Albania as part of his defense.

In recent court filings, Yeffet continues to insist that the greatest harm he has suffered is not only related to the conflict with Mark Faist.

He claims that the subsequent publications in Albania, the political debate, and the resonance his story received severely damaged his reputation and businesses.

Even, according to the allegations presented in court, this situation led to his removal from a major development project in Albania, from which he says he expected to earn more than $30 million.

Claim for project loss in Albania

According to the position presented by Yeffet's lawyers, the statements made by Faist after the signing of the agreement between the parties have spread to the community where they live and beyond, bringing consequences to business relations.

The document states that Yeffet claims he was removed from a multi-million dollar investment deal precisely because of these statements.

In the section dealing with the discovery of evidence, the parties anticipate that during the process the following will be required:

-documents related to "Albanian Development" and the group of investors;

-documents related to Yeffet's departure from this investment group;

-documents related to his claim for profits of over $30 million from participation in the project;

-evidence from investors involved in the Albanian project;

-evidence from Albanian media that have reported on the claims and public accusations against him.

This shows that Albania is not simply mentioned indirectly, but is a concrete part of the elements that are expected to be investigated during the evidence discovery phase of the judicial process.

Media alibi

Another new element that emerges from the document is related to the role of the media in Albania.

Faist's lawyers anticipate that they will seek documents related to "media entities operating in Albania" that have reported on statements considered defamatory by Yeffet.

"Albanian media representatives" are also mentioned as possible witnesses in the process, with the argument that their reports have been widely distributed on Albanian social networks.

This is an indication that public reporting in Albania may become part of the judicial review to assess whether or not they have contributed to the reputational damage claimed by Yeffet.

conflict

At the center of the main lawsuit remains Mark Faist's claim that he transferred a total of $8.61 million to Ron Yeffet and his company R&I Trading for real estate investments in New York.

According to Faist, he did not receive any profit from these investments and only $1 million was returned to him in 2025.

He claims that the parties then signed an agreement where Yeffet accepted the obligation to return the remaining $7.61 million plus interest, but the payment deadlines were not respected.

For this reason, Faist is requesting from the court the obligation of Yeffet and his company to pay the remaining amount, along with contractual interest.

On the other hand, Yeffet disputes the claims and argues that Faist violated the confidentiality agreement between them.

According to him, Faist has made public statements calling him a fraud, thief, criminal and liar, which according to the businessman has severely damaged his reputation.

It is on this basis that he has filed a counterclaim for defamation and claims that the damages caused include the loss of a development project in Albania, from which, according to him, he expected profits exceeding 30 million dollars. / Pamphlet
