Flattery is the best way to impress US President Donald Trump, who loves to be adored by others. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has been trying to do this for a long time, like many other leaders, and it seems his efforts have paid off.
Aleksandar Vučić, in an interview with the American portal Breitbart News, said that President Trump is much more popular in Serbia than any other American leader because he is pragmatic and rational.
Vučić said that Trump's popularity in Serbia in the run-up to the 2024 US presidential election had reached astronomical proportions, with three-quarters of Serbs liking Trump and wanting him to win. Vučić said that, in Serbia, Trump had "the biggest support by far" than anywhere in Europe, and not even deep red states like West Virginia, Kentucky or Louisiana could hold a candle to Trump's favorability here.
"What I can say is that I was surprised by some comments that were made in the press in the United States, where some other European countries in the past were highlighted as Donald Trump's strongholds, because it was very clear to all of us that in Serbia he had the greatest support, talking about the election campaign, and this support even at that time exceeded 75 percent of those who are decided of course — which was not the case, not even in the United States. Nowhere else," Vučić said, among other things.
That was enough for Trump, who did not hesitate to publish Vučić's interview with the American portal on his social network Truth Social.
