Russia has unveiled its new nuclear submarine, described as capable of carrying a "Doomsday" weapon that could unleash a devastating radioactive wave across the world.
The submarine, which was delayed by five years for unexplained reasons, was launched in Severodvinsk, in Russia's far north, in the presence of Defense Minister Andrei Belousov. The giant "Khabarovsk", which reinforces Putin's threats of a Third World War, meets all the conditions to launch the Poseidon nuclear drone towards the western coast.
"The heavy nuclear-powered cruiser 'Khabarovsk' is being launched from the renowned 'Sevmash' shipyard. Carrying underwater weapons and robotic systems, it will enable us to successfully secure Russia's maritime borders and protect national interests in various areas of the world's oceans," Belousov said.

The Khabarovsk will now undergo sea trials, while the nuclear reactor and other technical specifications remain classified as state secrets. Putin said last week that the Poseidon drone, which can carry a nuclear warhead, has already been successfully tested.
The Poseidon, which will be transported from Khabarovsk, is said to be 20 meters long and almost 2 meters wide, weighing 100 tons. It is capable of traveling up to 6,200 miles, at a speed of 185 km/h in the deep sea.
The special submarine "Khabarovsk" is designed to carry up to 12 deadly torpedoes of this new type, each equipped with a nuclear reactor.
"Poseidon's power exceeds that of our most advanced intercontinental ballistic missile, the Sarmat (also known as Satan-2). There is nothing similar in the world. There is no way to stop it," Putin said, warning the West.
Russian propaganda has often claimed that Poseidon, launched from the Khabarovsk submarine, could drown countries like Britain in radioactive waves.
The cost of the submarine has not been made public, but weighing 10,000 tonnes, it is estimated to have cost over £1 billion. Its construction began in 2014, long before Putin officially announced it in 2018.

The launch of the Khabarovsk took place on Saturday, although it was originally scheduled for June 2020. Photos released from the inauguration ceremony showed the rear of the submarine. Belousov said this is a historic moment for the Russian Navy and that it will strengthen the country's maritime security.
