US President Donald Trump's latest medical report has sparked reactions and skepticism on social media, particularly over the explanation given regarding the visible bruises on his hands.
The White House released the report late Friday evening, a timing that some commentators interpreted as an attempt to minimize public attention to the document.
According to the president's personal physician, Sean Barbabella, Trump enjoys "excellent health" and is "fully capable" to exercise the duties of commander-in-chief of the US armed forces.
The report reveals that the president underwent a series of examinations, including CT scans, heart checks, cancer screening tests and other assessments conducted by 22 specialists.
However, the debate focused on one particular detail: the bruises on Trump's hands. The White House physician attributed them to the frequent handshakes during public events, an explanation that was met with skepticism by many online users.
Critics of the report called the document a "press release" rather than a full medical assessment, while some described it as a "complete joke."
Trump's health has been the subject of constant discussion in recent months, especially because of his age. The US president will turn 80 on June 14 and is one of the oldest presidents in US history.
Despite the controversy, the official report does not identify serious health problems and insists that Trump remains in good physical condition to continue in office.
