Ceasefire on the verge of collapse? The two scenarios that could plunge the

The ceasefire between the United States and Iran is being questioned after recent developments in the Strait of Hormuz, raising fears that the conflict could enter an even more dangerous phase.

The ceasefire agreement, reached last month, was intended to temporarily end the fighting and give the sides more time to negotiate more complex issues. However, tensions rose again after Iran attacked ships in the Strait of Hormuz, while the US resumed attacks. As a result, Tehran closed the strategic waterway, while Washington restored the blockade.

According to Sky News' Middle East correspondent Adam Parsons, the situation remains very fragile and risks escalating further.

"What I think is interesting and potentially provocative is that both sides seem to now be embracing the idea of attacking non-military targets," he said.

Parsons identifies two developments that could widen the conflict. The first scenario involves a possible Israeli involvement in the fighting, as it has so far stayed out of direct conflict in recent days.

The second scenario is the possibility that Iran will seek support from its allies in the region to increase pressure on the United States, which could extend the conflict beyond a direct clash between Washington and Tehran.

According to the analysis, although the ceasefire officially remains in force, developments on the ground show that the situation is still unstable and any new incident could lead to a further escalation of the conflict.
