Ferit Hoxha continues to represent Albania in the EU and lobby for European integration, while his brother is charged with three criminal charges for embezzlement, including those of the European Union. Edi Rama appointed him minister 3 months after SPAK took his brother into custody and refuses to dismiss him, unlike the case of Xhafaj, when his brother was imprisoned for drugs...
The Special Prosecution Office has seized 40 million Euros in assets originating from corruption, benefiting from the "Agasi-Beqiri" structured criminal group, which includes Gëzim Hoxha, brother of the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha.
The minister's brother was taken into custody in January 2026, with the measures "Compulsory appearance and prohibition of leaving the territory of Albania", while two days ago 1.3 million Euros were seized from him, which according to SPAK, he benefited from criminal activity with ANA tenders.
In this case, we are faced with this fact: Ferit Hoxha is Foreign Minister, while his brother Gëzim Hoxha has been charged and seized, with two criminal measures, as part of a structured criminal group that has stolen public funds through corruption and pressure.
In fact, among the millions that Gëzim Hoxha stole are the funds that the European Union gave Albania for the digitalization of public services and cybersecurity, at the time when Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha was Albania's Ambassador to the EU.
It is a serious scandal that one brother represents organized crime in the theft of state funds, while the other brother represents the Albanian State as Minister of Diplomatic Service.
So, Minister Ferit Hoxha is engaging in diplomacy and lobbying to integrate Albania into the European Union, guaranteeing that organized crime and corruption are being fought, when his brother is a member of a structured criminal group.
The scandal as a minister is the work of Prime Minister Edi Rama, who appointed Ferit Hoxha as Foreign Minister, 3 months after his brother Gëzim Hoxha was indicted by SPAK. And he continues to keep him in office, although his brother is under investigation with 3 criminal measures: "Compulsory appearance, passport blocking and ban on leaving the territory of Albania and most recently, asset seizure."
Morally, the responsibility for remaining in office lies with Minister Ferit Hoxha, who, I don't know how he can meet with bosses in the European Parliament Commission and in the chancelleries of EU countries, when his brother is part of a structured criminal group.
The scandal is deepening further, with the fact that Prime Minister Edi Rama is not dismissing Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha, nor is he even expelling him from the diplomatic service, as he was forced to dismiss former Interior Minister Fatmir Xhafaj, when his brother was imprisoned in Italy for drug trafficking.
Meanwhile, Minister Hoxha is not resigning, because he has the support of the Prime Minister, who still needs a little time to renegotiate the water deal with Greece./ Pamphlet
