The police vetting turned out to be a farce organized by the government dome, through the leaders of the Ministry of Interior and the vetting commission, which was appointed and is led by the police directorate, in order to prevent the removal of leaders who have served the party of crime.
During the 6-year process, 68 police leaders charged with links to crime, including Ilir Proda and Neritan Nallbati, have passed the vetting process with false investigative reports, and have been circulating through police stations for 20-30 years.
Meanwhile, for some police leaders and officials who have records of corruption and links to crime, the vetting commission has used a trick to leave them out of the vetting process.
There are 25 police officers who were investigated and, a few days before their vetting, intentionally requested their resignations and the termination of the vetting, or they were demoted from their duties, meaning their assets and figures were not verified.
