Analyst Mentor Kikia commented on Ervin Salianj's release from prison and the fact that he was not received by any leader at the Democratic Party headquarters.
The analyst says that Salianji, although he was in prison for a DP issue and not his own, should not have expectations from the party, because it remains the same as it was about a year ago when he was convicted.
"Undoubtedly, Salianji was in prison for a DP cause and not for personal issues and I think he may have had expectations that he would be welcomed at the DP headquarters as the political hero of this party, but as you noted, nothing like that happened because beyond what Salianji perceived under restrictive conditions, the DP has been the same and Salianji will be integrated into the political life of the DP. Berisha himself warned this, but he will have to lower his expectations since Salianji is simply a politician of this party who can take a political position in the leadership or elsewhere. But the DP is the same and Salianji will not find a better environment than the one he left when he was arrested. He must be aware of the democratic environment within that party and he should not have other expectations," Kikia said on Report TV.
Kikia said he does not believe that there are people in the DP who think that Salianji can grow politically and become a potential candidate to get something more. According to him, the sentence will not grow Salianji and make him a potential political leader.
"There is no reason to be upset in the DP that it was involved in the cause of denouncing the elections, and there is no question of sitting down and analyzing its responsibilities on May 11. At least we will have to wait until September for the DP to conclude the denunciation process and then analyze the problems it had with the list of candidates, with its leadership to understand what was wrong and from here if it can take initiatives that can generate movement to create new leadership. But until this is accepted by Berisha, I believe there will be no movement," he added.
Further, Kikia stated that without Berisha opening his "arm" in the DP, no one can raise their head to cause unrest within the party, while bringing to attention how he managed to regain its leadership.
"No one can take any initiative to declare a new disturbance of the situation there while Berisha is in office. Basha proved this and Berisha showed that even when he was completely thrown out of the party and the parliamentary group, he knew how to reverse the situation and bring it back to where it is. I don't believe that anyone will have the courage to start such a movement. This can only mean when Berisha says that he will no longer be a candidate," the analyst concluded.
