Among the speeches given at the 19th-day protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, one of the protesters conveyed a strong message against the political class, calling for a break from what he described as the politics of individuals and party militancy.
Speaking before hundreds of citizens gathered on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, he called on Albanians not to remain hostage to political figures and to raise their voices against the current system.
" Don't be held hostage to idols like Berishism and Ramism. Stop being held hostage to the individual. Enough is enough, let's all be in the square to raise our voices ," he declared.
The protester accused the political class of corruption and mismanagement of public funds, claiming that citizens have benefited little from the aid and funds that have come from the European Union.
" We have only had theft. This mafia system has deceived us. They have also taken away the EU aid they gave for recovery ," he said.
Following his speech, the protester also attacked what he described as a culture of political militancy, demanding a civic response to the political class.
" How can we hope from militants and patronageists? Don't allow these criminals to continue in power ," he declared.
The speech was greeted with applause by some of the protesters gathered in front of the Prime Minister's Office, where calls for the removal of Edi Rama and changes in the Albanian political scene continue.
