The Special Appeals Chamber has upheld the KPK's decision to dismiss former prosecutor Xhevahir Lita.
The KPK had decided on Lita's dismissal from office on September 4, 2024.
Prosecutor Xhevahir Lita was arrested for corruption and organized crime during the operation codenamed "Metamorphosis" in July 2023 and a few days later was suspended from duty by decision of the High Prosecutorial Council, KLP.
"The adjudicatory panel of the Special Appeals Chamber, composed of Albana Shtylla as presiding judge, Sokol Çomo as rapporteur, Ina Rama, Mimoza Tasi, Rezarta Schuetz as members, announced the decision on case no. 47/2024, dated 19.11.2024, which concerns the appeal of the reassessment subject Xhevahir Lita against the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission no. 796, dated 04.09.2024.
At the end of the trial in the deliberation room, the panel, based on Article 66, point 1, letter “a” of Law No. 84/2016, “On the temporary re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania”, unanimously decided:
Leaving into force decision no. 796, dated 04.09.2024 of the Independent Qualification Commission, concerning the re-evaluation subject Xhevahir Lita.
"This decision is final and has immediate effect. It was announced on 16.12.2025, in Tirana ," the announcement states.
