Here are the inspectorates undergoing the restructuring process...
As part of the action launched by Prime Minister Edi Rama, a total of 14 inspectorates and directorates dealing with the management of the environment, medicines, territory, food, etc. will be restructured.
A few days ago, it was the Prime Minister himself who announced the 'merger' of the National Food Authority, but he will not be the only one. After all, the Medicines Agency, IKMT, IHP and many other inspectorates will also be included in the restructuring process. The decision was made today at a government meeting. According to him, the bodies that are being restructured are:
a) National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices;
b) National Environmental Agency;
c) National Forestry Agency;
ç) National Agency for Protected Areas;
d) National Veterinary and Plant Protection Authority;
dh) National Food Authority;
e) General Directorate of Archives;
ë) Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture Services;
f) National Inspectorate of Territorial Protection;
g) National Inspectorate for the Protection of Cultural Heritage;
gj) State Health Inspectorate;
h) State Inspectorate of Labor and Social Services;
i) State Inspectorate of Market Surveillance;
j) Institute of Public Health.
According to the decision, the inspection functions of the National Agency for Pre-University Education and the National Coastal Agency are transferred to new central inspectorates, which will be created according to the areas of inspection, covering the responsible ministries and according to the principles of Law No. 99/2024, "On Inspection in the Republic of Albania".
The government has launched a broad action to free up public spaces, food safety, etc. A week ago, Rama announced that we will have a total restructuring of the inspectorate.
" The activities of the AKU must be immediately suspended. The AKU must be urgently stopped from continuing to operate because it does more harm than good. It must be suspended, a special commission must be established to analyze all the human resources of the AKU and the process of merging those different inspectorates that has been established by law must go through a process of selecting human resources that will be involved in inspection ," he said.
