Criminalistics expert Ervin Karamuço has commented on tomorrow's process, where the head of SPAK will be elected. The 4 candidates will be heard at the KLP and each will present their platforms. But unlike the other 2 times, this time there will be a large presence of ambassadors. According to Karamuço, there have been attempts to influence the process by some politicians, whom he calls "small politicians".
" There have been concerns about interference for some time. We have said: not all members of the KLP can be part of this concern. Internationals demand that this process be guaranteed also because of this great external pressure. There is talk of a pressure that comes mainly from some small politicians, who think that, with the problems they have in SPAK, the new leader can close them by securing some votes, and from some businessmen who have problems with SPAK, but also tentacles related to organized crime, but which so far is more withdrawn than from the first two components ," he told Euronews Albania.
Karamuço underlines that Thursday's process carries great importance, while stating that the broad international presence is a guarantee mechanism that the members of the KLP follow the rules, transparency and their internal conviction, avoiding any kind of illegal influence.
" The presence of internationals will be more of a guarantee, as happened when the American ambassador was in the hall where this decision was made. I know that the hall does not hold so many people, but an accommodation option will be found. To my knowledge, it has rarely happened that so many foreign representatives have been present. It happened when the justice reform was approved with 140 votes, where the parliament boxes were filled with ambassadors from all EU countries and not only. Since then, we have not seen such a presence ," he said.
