Albanians living in Geneva, Switzerland, gathered in protest against the government of Edi Rama, joining the mobilization of the Albanian diaspora in support of the protesters in Tirana.
With national flags, patriotic songs, and calls against the government, the participants declared that their protest is directly related to developments in Albania, where citizens have taken to the streets for 9 consecutive days.
During the rally in Geneva, protesters called for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the removal of the government cabinet. They also expressed support for the causes raised by protesters in Albania, including opposition to the Zvërnec project.
"We are proud to be Albanians, we have never hidden it ," said one of the participants during the protest.
In recent weeks, similar protests by Albanians have taken place in several other European cities where a large Albanian community lives, including Hamburg, London, The Hague, Berlin, Munich, and Milan.
As the protest in Tirana enters its 10th day, organizers and participants continue to maintain the resignation of Edi Rama and the government as their main demand, warning of continued mobilization inside and outside Albania.
