The High Prosecutorial Council has decided with 6 votes in favor and 4 against to dismiss the director of the National Bureau of Investigation, Aida Hajnaj.
The latter was appointed 5 years ago, on August 31, and on September 1, she was supposed to hand over the task to the new head, but the latter has not yet been elected. With Hajnaj's departure, the leadership of the BKH will be taken over by the vice-president, Joni Keta, who is also in the running for the position of director.
Keta is competing with 6 others, who have passed all the required tests, while awaiting the completion of the asset and image verification process.
For the position of the new director of the BKH, a total of 13 candidates' applications and documentation were reviewed, while only 7 of them advanced to the next phase of the competition. After verification of the documentation and fulfillment of the legal criteria, the candidates who continue the competition are:

-Gentian Ndoi
-Gentjan Shehaj
-Gledis Nano
-Joni Keta
The remaining 7 candidates will be scored by the commission, which consists of three prosecutors, and then the name will be passed to the KLP for a vote.
