Former Minister of Defense and Deputy Prime Minister in Sali Berisha's government, Gazmend Oketa, has been summoned by SPAK as a witness in today's court session on the emergency privatization affair of the former "Partizani" complex. The session is held at 10:00.
In addition to him, Elvira Lame, Paro Laçi and Isa Tare have also been called to testify at the GJKKO.
The latter was supposed to testify at the June 22nd hearing, but said he was out of the country.
Last session, strong testimony was that of Ylli Pango, the former Minister of Sports, who said that he had been against changing the destination of the former Partizani club's premises, i.e. the construction of 19 towers there. He said that even the 2008 legal change that made this possible was not his initiative, but a proposal of the Berisha government.
Berisha directly accused Pango on June 18, 2008, of having brought a law to the government with the first proposal, in defense of the interests of sports club owners.
However, in the GJKKO, the former minister denied having been present at the government meeting that decided to pass the law to the Council of Ministers.
The report on the privatization affair of the former "Partizani" complex, where a palace complex has been built, was made by the chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla.
Through this lawsuit, Balla accuses former Prime Minister Berisha, Berisha's son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, and former minister Arben Imami of abuse of office.
The "Partizani" sports club was one of the complexes owned by the Ministry of Defense, where today palaces have been built by Jamarbër Malltezi.
