The civic protest has entered its 40th day today, as hundreds of citizens initially gathered at Skanderbeg Square to then march towards the Prime Minister's Office building, where the rally against Prime Minister Edi Rama and the political caste is continuing.
A young man spoke about the challenges facing his generation, emphasizing that a lack of trust in the state and a lack of prospects are pushing young people to leave the country.
" The youth is being killed by the lack of faith in a better future in the country ," he said.
He called on citizens not to give up on the protest and to remain united until their demands are met.
" We are not alone. There are many Albanians who want conditions to be better, to live in a better Albania. And if there is injustice in Albania, let's all come out together to protest. The lack of trust in the state... Albanians are tired. If we thought that Albania was an uncorrupted country, many would live here ," he declared.
Even on the 40th day, protesters have repeated their demands for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, the removal of the political caste, and the building of a system that, according to them, guarantees more justice, equality, and opportunities for citizens. The rally in front of the Prime Minister's Office is expected to be followed today by a march through the streets of the capital, continuing the daily protests that have now entered their sixth week.
