Elton Kërluku has been reconfirmed as head of the financial investigation at the Special Prosecution Office. Kërluku previously ran for the head of the National Bureau of Investigation, but in the final phase, among the candidates who passed all procedures, the SPAK commission decided that the leadership of the National Bureau of Investigation should be entrusted to Joni Keta.
The financial investigation was considered a priority by the new head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, who took over the Special Prosecution Office on December 19, succeeding Altin Dumanin in this function.
From the moment Joni Keta took over the leadership of BKH and Braho took over that of SPAK, Kërluku is the first among the officials to be reconfirmed in his position, which he has previously led.
The financial investigation has recently recruited several investigators, significantly increasing the number of people who investigate the assets of high-ranking officials, or filter the assets of those entities that are on SPAK's 'radar'.
