Analyst Fatos Lubonja joined the citizens' protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, stating that the participants, regardless of their political beliefs, are united by their opposition to what he described as the capture of the country by crime and oligarchs.
In his speech, Lubonja focused on the slogan that has accompanied the protests of recent days, "Albania is not for sale," arguing that it represents the rejection of a development model that, according to him, favors the interests of a privileged minority to the detriment of the public interest.
" Here we are many and we are different. But we are united by one thing that is more important, that slogan: 'Albania is not for sale'. Its meaning is against an Albania built by crime and oligarchs. I am not one of those who shout, but I want to tell those who ask what development is. Is it development for the oligarchs and with the oligarchs? This is not development, but a tumor that is growing in the body of Albania and that we must clean it ," he declared.
Lubonja said the protest has gone beyond a single cause and is turning into a broader civic reaction against the way the country is being governed. According to him, the mobilization must continue until the protesters' political objective is achieved.
" We will stay here until we force him to resign. Zvërnec showed us the robbery of Albania. From this square I also call on SPAK to protect us from this criminal project ," Lubonja concluded.
The analyst's statements were met with applause from the protesters gathered in front of the Prime Minister's Office, where for days they have been articulating not only opposition to the project in Zvërnec, but also broader demands for political and institutional changes in the country.
Bravo Lubonja, ma degjove llafin!
