Tirana police have intensified the operation to find Eglant Koç, focusing the search on several mountainous areas on the outskirts of the capital.
According to sources from the investigative group, the checks are mainly taking place in Pëllumbas and Qafë Mollë, two areas frequently frequented by Armand Shakaj, the suspect in this case.
Investigators have been directed towards these areas after local residents reported seeing Shakaj's vehicle near Pëllumbas. This has led police forces to expand the perimeter of the search and conduct detailed checks on the ground.
Meanwhile, verifications in the TIMS system have shown that the 41-year-old has not left Albanian territory, strengthening the authorities' suspicions that he may still be hiding within the country.
According to investigators, it is known that Shakaj suffers from a health problem. For this reason, the police have requested the cooperation of public and private health institutions, placing them on standby in case he presents himself for medical treatment.
Searches and investigations continue, as authorities work to uncover the fate of Eglant Koç and locate the suspect.
