Irena Gjoka is the judge who will have in hand the file against the President of the PL, Ilir Meta, against whom SPAK has filed 3 charges.
Meta, arrested since October 2024 on the orders of SPAK, faces charges of passive corruption, money laundering, and forgery of seals and stamps.
SPAK has notified Meta and his ex-wife, Monika Kryemadhi, of the charges, and after the draw, it is expected that Judge Gjoka will pass the SPAK file for trial or not.
The Court will evaluate the investigations conducted by the Special Prosecution Office, the evidence and facts alleged to be in the file, to then decide whether to proceed to trial, remand for further investigation or close the case.
Irena Gjoka is also the preliminary investigation judge in the case of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha in connection with what is known as the 'Partizani' file. Gjoka has faced a series of accusations from Berisha, while she signed security measures against him and his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi.
