A protester from the Albanian diaspora in Great Britain said that the arrival of Albanians from abroad is a strong message to the government and Prime Minister Rama, who he said was "terrified" when he saw them in the square.
He further stated that the involvement of the diaspora will continue and that Albanians abroad are reorganizing to achieve the protesters' demands.
"Edi Rama was horrified when he saw the voice of the diaspora coming here. I received a shout-out from Edi Rama and his entire entourage, because they must be making fun of us. He scored an own goal, because the support of the diaspora has increased even more and we are reorganizing to sit down, not only the Albanians of Britain, but the Albanians of the entire diaspora, and you will feel the impact soon," he said as he addressed the prime minister, demanding his resignation and that otherwise he would not have come to power, he would leave in shame," the protester said.
Protester: I am Bledar Meti, I come from Britain and together with the diaspora representation we organized the arrival to the homeland, by land, by air and by sea, to be here with you.
Edi Rama was horrified when he saw the voice of the diaspora coming here. I received a warning from Edi Rama and his entire entourage, because they must be making fun of us.
I come from a patriotic family. When my grandfather, after the Postriba uprising in 1948, sheltered one of the Kazazi suckers, who organized the Postriba protest, and when the red communists discovered where he was hiding, he decided to pass him through the motorcade, through the group of communist partisans, and risked getting a bullet in the forehead. When my grandfather took the risk to save the life of Kazazi, the famous sucker, I am not afraid of the mud of the communists.
He has scored an own goal, because the support of the diaspora has increased even more and we are reorganizing to sit down, not only the Albanians of Britain, but the Albanians of the entire diaspora, and you will feel the impact soon. I congratulate the initiating group. This protest is political, demanding the resignation of the government unconditionally.
All of you, together with the diaspora, demand a technical government, constitutional changes, because with this electoral code that we have, we will follow Mr. Surrel from here to his last home. We demand Edi Rama's resignation. You came here as hope, but you will leave in shame.
