School violence, Malaj: Over 1,000 young people involved, society indifferent to

Education expert Nora Malaj has raised the alarm about the worrying extent of violence among teenagers, describing the situation as a major problem that affects society, the family and the state, and directly threatens life safety.

She expressed regret that this phenomenon continues to return to public debate only after serious events, without deep and long-term reflection.

According to Malaj, in the last five years, at least 10 cases of loss of life among adolescents have been recorded, while around 1,426 young people have been involved in the cycle of violence, inside and outside school premises.

She stressed that the latest report by the Supreme State Audit Office has identified serious problems with the functioning of school security officers, who exist "de jure", but not in reality on the ground. Malaj adds that the problem lies in the massive spread of bullying, which according to her has become part of everyday life, affecting all ages.

"One of the biggest concerns is social indifference, where the reaction only comes at the moment of the event, only to fade away very quickly afterwards," she told "A2 CNN."

Malaj emphasized that educational institutions should not only be centers of academic formation, but also of civic and moral education. The expert called for figures with integrity and contributions to education and society to come together, not only to discuss, but to build a new and sustainable approach to curb violence and orient the younger generations.
