Activist Edison Lika spoke in front of the Prime Minister's Office during the 31st civic protest, where he stated that the protesters remained calm despite, according to him, provocations from the police.
He said that protest participants managed to go near Parliament for the first time, while accusing MPs of avoiding confrontation with citizens.
Lika stated that the protest will continue and reiterated the request for his resignation, while stating that State Police employees are, according to him, misused and that he does not consider the protesters opponents.
"The protest did not fall prey to police provocations. Despite their attempts to provoke us, we did not fall prey until they were forced to attack us. After they attacked us, they were forced to lower their heads and open the door. Because they have understood that this protest marks their end," he said.
Following his speech, the activist said that the deputies did not confront the protesters and repeated the accusations against the majority.
"Today, for the first time, we had the opportunity to go to Parliament and give the elected officials the opportunity to look us in the eye. They couldn't look us in the eye. Did you see how they hid? Like a mouse in a circle. They are afraid to look us in the eye. They are not our elected officials. They are the elected officials of crime, of the oligarchs," Lika added.
At the end of his speech, activist Lika thanked the protesters and also focused on the role of the State Police.
"Today we resisted again peacefully and showed you that we are stronger than them, even more just than them. Once again we demand your resignation. For today we thank the police, because when there are such cases we love each other more. The State Police is the first prisoner of this state. This victory has made us stronger and has shown us that we are on the right path," he concluded.
