A plenary session is taking place in the Albanian Parliament where deputies present the problems of the areas they cover or the concerns of citizens, as they say, in a general way.
Socialist legislator Erion Braçe, who on May 11 won the mandate from the open list of the Socialist Party in the Tirana District, being the elected representative of the residents of Administrative Unit no. 5, has expressed concern about the fact that there is no functional polyclinic in this unit.
He said that an area with over 20,000 residents is covered by several makeshift ambulances on the first floors of buildings, not meeting even the minimum conditions for providing services.
According to the SP MP, senior citizens are forced to go from the Palace of Arrows to the 'Vasil Shanto' school to receive basic services.
"I want to raise concerns about healthcare. The right to healthcare is vital. There are many people living in unit 5 here and the concern is about healthcare."
There is no polyclinic, but ambulances are located on the first floors of the buildings. One of the main ambulances has been closed and has been moved further away.
"Pensioners have to walk thousands of steps to get from the Palace of Arrows to the Vasil Shanto school. These elderly people in this unit that has 20 thousand inhabitants have been denied health services," said Braçe.
