42 days of protest

Thousands of citizens marched towards the Prime Minister's Office on the 42nd day of protests in Tirana, demanding the removal of Edi Rama and a change in the country's political system.

The protest march from Skanderbeg Square to the Prime Minister's Office has begun, on the 42nd day of protests in Tirana. Thousands of citizens have joined the civic rally, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, as a non-negotiable demand.

The protesters have called on the head of government to confront them on the boulevard and account for the concerns raised by them.

Citizens from different cities in the country have gathered on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, holding banners and repeating slogans against the government and the political class.

During the rally, chants were heard such as : "Rama, resign!", "Down with the government!", "Albania belongs to the citizens", "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison", "Revolution", "New Albania", "The end has come for you", "Edi Rama, you bastard, wait for the people, they are coming".

Citizens of all ages, from young people to families with children, have joined the protest. Organizers say that the escorting and arrests of some participants in recent days have not affected the continuation of the rallies, which have been taking place every evening for 42 days.

The protest, which initially began as opposition to the tourism project in Zvërnec, has now turned into a broader movement against the government and what protesters describe as the "old political class."

Organizers and participants insist that their demands are no longer related to a single issue, but to changing the political system in the country.

According to them, the protest will continue until the main demand is met: the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the launch of a process to change the political system.
